Low Tox Hand Soap DIY

Consider the amount of times you wash your hands in a day. If you’re practicing proper hygiene, it’s probably quite a few times. With a product being used so heavily, it’s important to consider the ingredients you’re being consistently exposed to.

Many conventional hand soaps, even those that are seemingly “eco friendly” (aka Greenwashing), contain toxic additives. Our skin is our largest organ and these chemicals absorb directly into our bloodstream. Yikes. So how do we avoid this?

This easy, 2 ingredient hand soap DIY swap can be made in under 5 minutes. Add to a soap dispenser (avoid plastic) as a naturally scented, low tox alternative.

The Power of Essential Oils

Essential oils are the life-blood of the plant (the most important part). What our blood is to us, is what essential oils do for plants. They carry nutrients and oxygen, while also effectively combating the damaging effects of toxins, impurities, and harmful substances.

Essential oils have been used by humans for thousands of years and are known to provide support for every system in the body. They’re used extensively for hormonal and emotional support. An oil can soothe a child to sleep at night or provide a calming effect after a stressful day at work. Oils an also be used as an alternative for toxic cleaning chemicals in our home.
