I’ll let you in on a little secret. Sometimes I write blogs that I have zero intention of ever posting. Using creative outlets, like writing, helps me process life.
While reflecting on the past year, it began setting in just how transformative it’s been. I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could create a list of 22 important lessons I learned this year.
After creating the list, I realized it might resonate with others. So, I decided to post this blog after all. Here it is! My biggest takeaways from 2022. Happy new year!
- If you’re considering doing something but it scares you, go for it anyways. Dive head first into the discomfort. This is the universe offering you an opportunity to grow. Doing things you want to do but kind of scare you is empowering beyond your wildest dreams. It’ll either be one of the greatest decisions you’ve ever made or make an interesting story. Either way, you’ll gain something from the experience.

- Affirmations are a powerful tool for retraining your mind and changing thought patterns.
- Rest is productive for artists and essential in avoiding creative burnout.
- Bet on yourself. Always bet on yourself. You have to be your biggest fan.
- Never give up on attaining your dream life and highest self. Keep realigning until you get it right.

- Live like you could die tomorrow. Because you could.
- Challenging thoughts that trigger negative emotions always leads to something deeper.
- Work smarter, not harder.
- Life doesn’t have to be perfect to acknowledge and be grateful for the positive changes that have occurred.
- The ability to thrive in life is heavily dependent on how well you treat your body.
- You’re allowed to do what’s best for you. And if you’re not sure what’s best for you, listen to your gut.
- Trust in the journey.
- There are too many life-changing books in this world to not be reading every single day.
- The art of detachment. That’s it. Aparigraha.
